On October 22 2025 The Union met with the management teams of Windsor Modules and Mississauga Seating. The Union's position focus will again remain on obtaining a contract that gives our members a good, predictable income, one that allows them to grow with dignity. In these times of economic challenges our members wanted competitive wages and benefits along with fair treatment.
Mississauga Seating Systems has been idled since spring of 2024 due to Ford retooling in Oakville. Lots of discussion and creative strategies were presented from both parties and after many long days and on November 6th a tentative agreement was reached. A Memorandum of Agreement was presented to the membership with gains in language, economic increases upon recall as well as retention bonuses. The plant is subject to return for production fall 2026
Windsor Modules clearly expressed their right for democracy in the workplace. The members at this facility supply Stellantis in Windsor and it was obvious that they deserved the same monetary gains as the other tier one plants in the area. The Bargaining Committee from Windsor was well supported by the National reps and the local president. The Company's Charter states their commitment to competitive wages and benefits, yet this was the biggest challenge at the table during negotiations. Despite the enhancement in contract language and some economic increases to benefits...the parties could not bargain a tentative agreement. Magna's Framework of Fairness Agreement has a No Strike clause, Work Stoppages or Lockouts. Both parties have agreed to continue to negotiate in good faith to come a resolution even though Arbitration may be inevitable.
